more cheese... more cheese...

We went up to the cabin again today. It was a lot of fun hanging out with my mom and Glen. It also meant a visit to my favorite store. The Farm Country Cheese House. The cheese is always good. The cash crunch (peanut brittle) was amazing. The cream cheese stuff was great as well. It also meant that I got pickled bologna to go with it. A good day overall. :-)

Grand Rapids Art Museum & Dr. Bird Brain

We took the kids to an event at the Grand Rapids Art Museum called Dr. Bird Brain. It was a lot of fun for the kids and I am glad we went. However, wandering around the rest of the museum was surprisingly stressful. The kids generally understood the rules. I just kept picturing the kids destroying some insanely expensive piece of art work but accident. It did not happen of course but I almost need to go back on my own or with just Melissa just to get a chance to actually enjoy the artwork.

We wandered around downtown again. The mirror maze was giant waste of money since we only had one free admission. The kids seemed to think it was a race and flew through it. Beyond that it was bum around the cabin, pool, pizza and going for a walk.

I think you would have to be insane to buy one of these cabins in Gatlinburg. This whole area is tourist trap and not in a good way. There has got to be a better place for a cabin for people who are actually into nature. Even the trails were busy. I hope that folks who enjoy hiking have been better luck than we did.
